ECC Renewal Application: TEEPNA and its Joint Venture (JV) Partners (at present Impact Oil and Gas, NAMCOR and QatarEnergy) hold an Exploration Right over Block 2913B. As part of the process of applying for offshore exploration and appraisal drilling activities in the Block, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process was undertaken, which culminated in the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) issuing an ECC for the proposed activities on 19 September 2019 (MEFT Ref No. ECC-00134).
Namwaste (Pty) Ltd proposes to develop a new general and hazardous waste treatment and disposal facility in the Erongo region (to be known as the Namwaste Management Facility (NMF)), which will address the pressing shortage of solutions for hazardous waste management in the Country and contribute to the protection of the environment whilst also creating employment opportunities and fostering economic growth. The following listed activities in terms of the EIA regulations of 2012 are triggered by the proposed project: 1. Energy Generation, Transmission and Storage Activities 2.
SLR Environmental Consulting Namibia (Pty) Ltd (SLR) was commissioned by Osino to undertake the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the water pipeline proposed from the Kranzberg boreholes to the Twin Hills Mine in the Erongo Region. The Project triggers listed activities (as outlined below) in terms of the EIA Regulations 2012 promulgated under the Environmental Management Act, No.7 of 2007. An Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) is required from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT).
Halliburton Industries Limited (Halliburton) is a multinational corporation that provides a range of products and services to the energy industry, specializing in oil and gas exploration, drilling, and production as well as engineering and construction services. Halliburton is proposing to construct and operate a LMTP at Berth 8 in the Port of Walvis Bay within the Namport property.
TotalEnergies E&P Namibia B.V. ("TEEPNA") is the holder of two Exploration Licences for Blocks 2912 and 2913B. TEEPNA currently holds an Environmental Clearance Certificate and approved Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) for a 3D seismic survey (dated 29 June 2021) over a portion of Blocks 2912 and 2913B. The current ECC provides for the undertaking of a 3D Seismic survey covering an area of Blocks 2912 and 2913B. TEEPNA is now applying to amend its ECC to cover the full extent of Licence Blocks 2912 and 2913B, a total area of 18 170 km².
Rhino Resources Namibia Ltd. (Rhino) is proposing to undertake oil and gas exploration well drilling activities within Block 2914A. The proposed offshore exploration programme includes drilling up to ten wells, some being exploration wells and some being appraisal wells. 2. Waste management, treatment, handling and disposal activities 2.2 Any activity entailing a scheduled process referred to in the Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Ordinance, 1976. There are currently no scheduled activities listed in terms of the Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Ordinance, 1976.
The current ECC provides for the development of an open pit mine, processing plant, and various mine infrastructure at Farm Lofdal. The Lofdal Mining Project will produce a concentrate consisting mainly of 'rare earths'. The proposed amendments to the Lofdal Mining Project include an increased project footprint due to additional infrastructure and mining areas, improved processing of minerals, and increased Life of Mine (LoM).

The project proposes the development of a photovoltaic solar installation with a cumulative capacity of 35.10 MWp to supply electricity to the proposed desalination plant near Wlotzkasbaken for the production of desalinated water (through reverse osmosis). The two demand centres (desalination plant and Pump Station 1 (PSS-1)) will be supplied by a combination of solar Photovoltaic (PV), Li-Ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and utility supplied power.

Namdeb Diamond Corporation (Pty) Ltd is proposing the development of the following and is legally required to apply for an ECC: 1. Energy generation, transmission and storage facilities: The construction of facilities for the generation of electricity; transmission and supply of electricity. 2. Land use and development activities: The rezoning of land from use for nature conservation or zoned open space to any other land use. 3. Infrastructure: The construction of communication networks including towers, telecommunication and marine telecommunication lines and cables.

The reason for the ECC is for the establishment of township on Portion 1 of Oshigambo Townlands No. 1117 to allow for the formalization of land uses, promotion of development and to bring services closer to the people as per the governmental objectives.
Amendment and Renewal of ECC for the abstraction of groundwater on Farm Cadix, No. 678. from 350 000m3/a to 642 000m3/a Title of Activity: Groundwater abstraction for irrigation. Nature of Activity: Irrigation of vegetables, maize, and fruit trees. Location of Activity: Farm Cadix No. 678, Tsumeb. Located 30 km east of Tsumeb. The farm cultivates maize and vegetables which are sold commercially. From Tsumeb, the farm is accessible via the D3021 district road en route Abenab.
Shell currently holds an ECC (APP-001119) for the drilling of up to 5 exploration and/appraisal wells across PEL39. Shell is now applying to drill up to an additional 10 exploration and appraisal wells within the same drill area of interest as authorised 17 August 2020. Shell is thus applying to amend its current ECC to allow for the drilling of additional exploration and appraisal wells, including performing well tests, and amending the timing of the activities to commence in 2023.

Amendment application: Proposed Changes to the Husab Mine and Linear Infrastructure, Erongo Region (ECC - 00127). EIA amendment process to the Husab Mine: Proposed heap leach facility and associated infrastructure. Swakop Uranium is investigating the feasibility of utilising their low-grade ROM material at the Husab Mine, in order to further extract available uranium through a heap leach process. The low-grade material is regarded as unsuitable and uneconomic for treatment through the current Tank Leach Facility (TLF).
The purpose of the ECC is for rezoning of the land from residential to business to allow for the formalization of an already constructed and existing Guest house.
