The Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) is required to enable mariculture development in Swakopmund townland. Prospective operators will be required to develop site-specific management plans focusing on the specific areas and species they would like to farm with. The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) with support from the Benguela Current Commission (BCC) instituted the impact assessment study to enable the mariculture development in Namibia.
The Environmental Clearance Certificate is required to enable mariculture development in Walvis Bay (land-based aquaculture) and water-based aquaculture for Namport.

The application is for a renewal of the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the transportation of Tantalite Ore from Umeis Farm known as Namibia Tantalite Mine which is owned and operated by African Tantalum (Pty) Ltd. The Mine is located approximately 90 km south of Karasburg in the Warmbad Area. The initial Environmental Clearance Certificate was issued on 23 April 2018 for a period of three (3) years and will be ending on 23 April 2021.
The renewal of ECC is required for installing a water pipeline for the abstraction of water from the Orange River to Namibia Tantalite Investment Mine at Umeis Farm 110 in Warmbad area in //Kharas Region. The initial ECC was obtained in March 2018 and the proponent has not yet completed the installation of the necessary infrastructures for abstraction and moving water from the river to the farm. Therefore, the proponent would require the ECC to be renewed for another three (3) years to enable them to complete the installation of the necessary infrastructures.

The Environmental Clearance Certificate is required for the establishment of an Orange River Farm and Rest Camp. This initiative is driven and supported by the Office of the Constituency Councillor for Oranjemund Constituency and implemented by local investors. The initiative is being implemented from scratch and thus the EIA needs to investigate what impact these activities will have on the community and environment where it is being implemented.
The Environmental Clearance Certificate is required for the continuation of the mining activities at Block 4 (Mining Licence No. 118 and 119) by Fourth Mining Company. The company has been mining precious and semi-precious stones at the same Block since 2002 and wishes to continue mining until their 14th April 2022 as per their Mining Licence validity period and beyond. The Proponent requires authorisation from the Environmental Commissioner for a period of three (3) years.

The main reason for this application is to allow the Proponent for Welwitschia University to be allowed to continue with the establishment of the charcoal, wood, fencing poles and furniture manufacturing production at Welwitschia University, Mururani Campus in Otjozondjupa Region.
The Oranjemund Constituency Office intends to establish an Agricultural Project for the Constituency along the Orange River. The Project indents to create farming lands on mostly Namdeb areas that have been mined and also on some Rosh Pinah areas that have not been earmarked for mining. The proposed activities will involve both local farmers as well as international investors who might want to farm in the area. There are already existing farms mostly those farming with grapes and other deciduous plants.
The Proponent would like to develop a housing project which includes 235 two-bedroom residential units and other related infrastructures i.e. road network within the identified area at Portion "K" of Okahandja Town and Townlands No. 57.
