Black Magic Briquettes cc currently operates a briquette production facility, Located on Farm Singbert, Approximately 6 km West of Karibib Town, Erongo Region, Namibia. The facility has been operational since 2018; however, in pursuit of good environmental practice and in compliance with Namibian Environmental Legislation, Black Magic Briquettes intends to seek an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) and conduct its operations in accordance with an approved Environmental Management Plan.
The Development Workshop Namibia (DWN) is implementing the Project “Poverty-Oriented Development of Infrastructure in urban areas of Namibia” with financial support from KfW. The project seeks to contribute to more sustainable and inclusive urban development in Namibia by supporting DWN to plan and develop low-cost residential land with titles in 15 towns across Namibia.
GAC Investment cc intends on obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for their proposed offshore bunkering operations on Namibian marine waters using a bunker supply vessel equipped for Ship-to-Ship (STS) fuel transfers. The operation will include importing VLSFO and MGO into Namibian ocean waters and performing refueling activities for international commercial & local vessels at anchorage. The fuel will be pumped from the bunker tanker to the client vessels using approved transfer hoses, fenders, and spill response equipment, complying with IMO and MARPOL standards.
Namibia Bulk Infrastructure and Grid Solutions, intends on having an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) in place, prior to the commencement of the construction and upgrading of Winnie Mandela Road, located in Windhoek, Namibia. The project area extends from the intersection of Monte Christo Road and Winnie Mandela Road, up to the intersection of C28 (Daan Viljoen Road) and Winnie Mandela Road, covering 6.2 km. The anticipated timeframe for the construction and upgrading activities is 18 - 20 months.
KK Construction cc intends to apply for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the Remainder Farm Oniipa Town and Townlands No. 1164 into portion A and Remainder, for the Establishment of a Township. The Oniipa Town Council is a relatively new Local Authority and is receiving a keen interest from investors with the present demand for land delivery for housing and commercial development purposes.

Kaoko Green Energy Solutions (Pty) Ltd intends to apply for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the Subdivision of Wlotzkasbaken Townlands No. 221 into 5 Portions (20 Ha) and the Remainder and Subsequent Rezoning of 5 Portions from "Undeveloped" to "Industrial" and Right of Way Servitude with the aim of developing the associated activities relating to the proposed WaveRoller Pilot Project. The proposed project is located near Wlotzkasbaken, Erongo Region, Namibia.
"PEL 83" is a Joint Venture between the block partners, namely Windhoek PEL 28 B.V. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Galp Energia E&P B.V (i.e. Galp)), the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) and Custos Investments. Galp holds an 80% controlling interest in Petroleum Exploration License (PEL) 83, while NAMCOR and Custos each hold 10%. Galp is currently the operator of PEL 83. Windhoek PEL28 B.V. (i.e.
Right-Path Investments (Pty) Ltd intends on obtaining an extension to their Environmental Clearance Certificate for their car waste battery recycling facility measuring approximately 720 m2, constructed in 2019. However, the operational activities of the factory could not be carried out, due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019, which affected business activities on a global scale for a number of years.
HyIron intends to develop the Oshivela Green Iron Pilot Project, on Section 4 of Farm Bloemenhof 109 . The proposed project entails the production of “green” iron, i.e. without any CO2 emissions, by using renewable energy only and applying HyIron’s proprietary technology. The proposed pilot production phase is planned in the north-western section of Section 4 of Farm Bloemenhof 109 and includes the following: Production of 5 tons raw iron per hour (~ 3 000 hours per year), using hydrogen as a reduction agent during the product beneficiation, in a specialised industrial (airtight) furnace.
Offshore bunkering related activities in Erongo Region.
SLB proposes to establish and operate a Liquid Mud Plant (LMP) in the Port of Walvis Bay. The proposed LMP will be used to receive, handle, manufacture, mix, store and transfer a liquid drilling compound which is used by offshore oil riggs.
(An Application was submitted to MEFT: DEA and registered on the MEFT portal in July 2020. The MEFT Portal however experienced difficulties and this Application was lost. The EIA process has been completed and therefore a new Application is herewith lodged. The previous Application number was: APP-01678). Lodestone is proposing the construction of a proposed new bulk water supply pipeline from the Oanob dam to the mine. A pipeline route has been decided following gravel roads, which is the shortest route that follows close to existing roads.
Galore Trading cc intends to construct and operate a horticulture irrigation project, located ±2 km east of Oranjemund, on two bordering agricultural plots measuring a total of 64 hectares (ha). The project aims to produce fruits and vegetables in the early stages and expand to various other crops, pending suitability investigations. The water for the irrigation project is proposed to be abstracted from the Orange River (located ±1 km east of the project site) to the irrigation site via underground pipeline and with the use booster pumps near the river.
AMENDMENT APPLICATION: Kelp Blue, intends to cultivate Giant Kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) at a commercial scale, off the coast of southern Namibia, near Lüderitz. Prior to them implementing the "commercial scale" cultivation project, Kelp Blue first develop a Pilot Project to provide important information and proof of their concept as well as monitoring of marine ecological aspects associated with the Pilot Project activities.
Renewal of the environmental clearance certificate (ECC-00901) for TeraSun Energy’s proposed PV Power Plant near Arandis in the Erongo Region.
Continuation of: Mining, processing and associated activities at the Langer Heinrich Mine. The Langer Heinrich Mine (LHM), situated in the Namib Naukluft National Park (NNNP) approximately 80 km to the east of Swakopmund in the Erongo Region of Namibia. The details relating to the ‘scale and scope’ of the proposed mining, processing and associated activities and facilities were included in the original (approved) EIA reports (stage 3 Expansion and subsequently the Stage 4 Expansion Projects).

Renewal application for: Lodestone's development of an open-pit mine and processing plant at their "Dordabis Iron Ore Mining Project" on ML 182 to produce iron concentrate, including associated infrastructure and activities. The Project area is situated in the Khomas Region, approximately 20 km north-west of Dordabis and 75 km south east of Windhoek on the C23 tar road.
Galore Trading cc (Galore) intends to apply for an ECC to conduct mineral exploration activities on their Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) 8727, located approximately 30 km south of Otavi, Otjozondjupa Region. EPL 8727 is approximately 11 492 Hectares (ha) in size.
Blueberries Namibia (Pty) Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "Namibia Berries") intends to apply for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the remainder (creation of streets), as part of the subdivision plan of the Farm Divundu Townlands no. 1362 into portions 8 to 15, with the future aim of developing irrigation activities on a 253.9 hectares (ha) piece of land. The proposed project is located in Divundu Village, Kavango East Region, Namibia.
Manica Group (Pty) Ltd intends to renew their ECC for the Storage, Handling and Transportation of Zinc, Nickel, Chrome, Coal, Cobalt and Urea in 5 Storage Facilities located in the Industrial area of Walvis Bay, Erongo Region. The ECC had a validity period from 14 April 2020 to 14 April 2023, hence this ECC Renewal Application.
Continuation of: The small-scale extraction of semi-precious stones (tourmaline and quartz crystals) through open pit mining following the tourmaline-bearing zone of the pegmatite. ML 189 is located on Farm Otjua, number 37 in the Karibib District, in the Erongo Region. The ML area lies approximately 40 km south of Karibib, following the district road D1953.
Continuation of: The small-scale extraction of semi-precious stones (pietersite) through open pit mining following the pietersite-bearing zone of the pegmatite. ML 57 is located on Farm Hopewell, number 240 in the Outjo District, in the Kunene Region.
Blue Berries Namibia (Pty) Ltd intends to apply for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for their proposed irrigation activities, located on a piece of land measuring ±253.9 hectares (ha), along the south eastern banks of the Okavango River, in Divundu Settlement. The proposed project aims to produce blue berries (large-scale production) and avocado (small-scale production) over four (4) phases.
Continuation of the abstraction of seawater, treatment of the water at the desalination plant for bulk supply of potable water, the discharge of brine back into the sea and associated activities. The plant was designed to produce 20 million cubic metres of potable water per year, at (current) full capacity. The desalination plant is located close to Wlotzkasbaken, ~35 km north of Swakopmund, in the Erongo Region of Namibia.

BIB Mineral Resources (BIB) has successfully obtained Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) 4524, located approximately 5 km northwest of Uis Settlement, Erongo Region. EPL 4524 is approximately 24 751 Hectares (ha) in size. The land on which the EPL is located, belongs to the Daures Constituency and does not encompass any farm.
Mrs. Katrina Elifas intends on obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the Rezoning and Subdivision of Erf 1204 from Business to 8 single undeveloped erven and remainder, measuring a total of 2798 m².
Mr. Gerhard Boetie Ndala has successfully obtained Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) 8520, located approximately 30 km south-east of Uis Settlement, within the Karibib, Omaruru Districts, Erongo Region. EPL 8520 is approximately 15297 Hectares (ha) in size. The land on which the EPL is falls part of the Tsiseb Conservancy, Erongo Region. Mr. Ndala proposes to undertake exploration activities on EPL 8520 for Dimension Stone, Base and Rare Metals, Industrial Minerals and Precious Metals.
Renewal application: Continuation of mining and associated activities at the Trekkopje Mine. However, the Project was placed under 'Care and Maintenance' in 2013, with Orano postponing the launch of the Trekkopje Mine indefinitely, depending the future recovery of the uranium price.

Walvis Bay Cargo Terminal (Pty) Ltd (WBCT) proposes to construct a new warehouse on their site in the Port of Walvis Bay, which is managed by the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport). The proposed warehouse will be used to receive, handle, stockpile and reload copper concentrate for shipment when vessels are available. All planned stockpiling activities will take place inside the proposed warehouse.
An amendment to the existing, approved ECC in the name of Arandis Power (Pty) Ltd to make provision for the changes to PV Power Plant component was requested in May 2022. A transferal was also requested, and the approved (amended) ECC was issued to TeraSun Energy (Pty) Ltd (for the operation of the PV Power Plant) in August 2022. This ECC is valid until 2023-09-08 and a request to renew the ECC will be actioned in due course.
