Abstract:

The Kudu Gas Project is being developed at Oranjemund, a small diamond mining town owned by Namdeb Corporation, situated near the mouth of the Orange River in the south-western corner of Namibia. NamPower needs to construct four parallel power lines from the Kudu Power Station development. For the first phase of the project (800MW), two 400kV lines will be needed to feed into the Namibian and South African grids respectively as well as a 220 kV line to connect the power station to the 220 kV network at Oranjemond Substation. The second phase (another 800MW) would require an additional 400kV line to feed the South African power grid.
