Title:

The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species: Spatial data

Abstract:

Spatial data for species that have been assessed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species are now available to the public to help in conservation planning and decision making. These include all amphibians, mammals, reef-building corals and over a thousand reptiles. The data is in ESRI shapefile format for GIS use and map creation and contains the known range of each species. Zipped files organised into taxonomic groups can be downloaded. Some species listed as Data Deficient are not mapped. These data are made freely available to the public to help inform conservation planning and other decision making processes.
