Findings: The environmental screening process has identified that Scenarios 1 and 2 will trigger an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) under Namibian legislation, both for the power plant facilities as well as for the harvesting component. For Scenario 3, it is not entirely clear as to whether a commercial scale torrefaction facility will trigger any Namibian EIA clauses; however the harvesting component will nevertheless require an EIA to be undertaken. No obvious "fatal" flaws have been identified in terms of successfully obtaining EIA approval under either Namibian or IFC standards.
