Farm hands at Otjihundu nets suspected poacher in the Seeis area after discovering signs of cattle rustling. In a second incident at the same farm, a suspected poacher was arrested a few hours later in a police operation. According to the police weekend crime report, the cattle theft incident occurred on Friday at around 14:00 at Farm Otjihundu 208 in the Windhoek District. Police said farm workers were conducting their routine patrols when they noticed suspicious footprints. After following the tracks, they discovered bloodstains near a kraal and found a slaughtering site where five cattle heads had been left behind. An injured bull was also found with injuries to both hind legs. The estimated value of the stolen livestock was reported to be N$48,000. Further tracking led workers to the B6 main road, where two pangas with blood stains were allegedly found under a culvert. No arrests have been made in connection with the cattle theft, and investigations are continuing. In a separate incident the following day, police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle near a neighbouring farm. An ambush was set up, and a white Toyota Hilux was intercepted at around 04:45. Police allegedly found four oryx carcasses in the vehicle, with the meat valued at N$16,000. The 32-year-old Namibian male driver was arrested, while three other suspects allegedly fled the scene.
