A preliminary review of the prominently papillose Huernia species (Asclepiadaceae)
19 species of Huernia, characterised by their prominently papillose corollas, are reviewed and their apparent affinities, diagnostic characters, variation and distribution discussed in detail: attention is also given to synonymy and nomenclatural matters. Maps showing the known distribution of the species are provided, as well as an artificial key to the taxa now recognised. One new variety is described and H. nigeriana is re-instated at specifi clevel.
