Title:

The Future Okavango - Calender

Publication Year:
2015
Abstract:

The Future Okavango (TFO) project was a research project that lasted from September 2010 to August 2015. Within this project researchers from Angola, Botswana, Namibia, and Germany studied the interactions between the people and their environment along the Okavango River. The aim of the project was to support sustainable land-use practices. Research activities mainly took place in and around the places Cusseque and Caiundo in Angola, Mashare in Namibia, and Seronga in Botswana. Without the communities' support and willingness to contribute, our research would not have been possible. With this calendar, we wish to express our gratitude and share some of our findings with the communities. We hope that the findings are helpful and that the calendar will leave some good memories behind. We would like to express our special thanks to the para-ecologists Meshack Kwamovo, Robert Mukuya, and Miguel Sachilulo Hilario, who always assisted and supported us during our activities and made the cooperation with the communities possible in the first place.
