Nonetheless, the Namibian government strives to share as much information as possible with the public.

Bhubaneswar: The forest department and police has busted an ivory smuggling racket in Keonjhar and apprehended four persons in connection with the case. A total of three tusks, in the size range of 20 to 51 cm and weighing around 3 kg, were also recovered from the accused during a joint raid carried out by Keonjhar police and forest officials recently.

Trafficking of pangolin scales and ivory from Africa to Asia has dropped sharply and consistently since 2020, according to a Wildlife Justice Commission (WJC) report released Wednesday, signaling a major shift in global smuggling networks. The report, "Disruption and Disarray: An analysis of pangolin scale and ivory trafficking, 2015 - 2024," links the decline to the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on global transport and sustained law enforcement pressure, including arrests of high-level traffickers and disrupted supply chains in Africa.
The German Federal Government has mobilized additional resources of €13 million to support the Namibian Government, through the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, in mitigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in the conservation and tourism sector.
