Exploration activities on EPL 7744 for base and rare metals, industrial minerals and precious metals in the Otjozondjupa Region.
This report presents an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed construction and operation of a fuel service station by Omushona Trading cc (CC/2013/01124) at Okatana area, Oshakati North East, Oshana Region along the Oshakati-Onuno C45 Highway road. The proposed development will result in the establishment of 2 storage tanks of both diesel and petrol connected to a pump for easy filling of vehicles.
Activity 9.5 Construction of filing stations or any other facility for the underground and aboveground storage of dangerous goods, including petrol, diesel, liquid, petroleum, gas or paraffin. Usakos Wollastonite Mine is a mine in the Erongo Region, involved in the mining of wollastonite. Wollastonite is a naturally occurring mineral with many unique characteristics. Through advanced processing, it has become one of the most versatile functional fillers in the marketplace.
Some agronomic producers intend to apply for permission from the Biosafety Council of the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology, for the introduction of genetically modified (GM) maize, Zea mays, for environmental release (cultivation) in Namibia. The GM maize strains are insect resistant MON810 and MON89034 and glyphosate resistant NK603.

Namib Eden Trading CC intends to construct and commission an eco-friendly seawater desalination plant at Farm Hentiesbaai No. 133 at Henties Bay in Erongo Region. The proponent has been conditionally granted approval by the Henties Bay Council (Resolution No. CR/010/31/01/2018) to lease a portion in extend of approximately 240 hectares of the Farm Hentiesbaai Town and Townlands No. 133 by private treaty to construct and commission an eco-friendly seawater desalination plant. The ECC is required in order for the Proponent to conduct Marine Controlled Source Electromagnetic (CSEM) in Walvis Basin, offshore Namibia. CSEM survey is a geophysical technique that is globally used in the offshore environment for detecting the presence of oil and gas and thus reduces the risk of drilling a dry exploration well and improves the chances for a commercial discovery especially in a frontier (high-risk area without known commercial hydrocarbon discovery) region such as offshore Namibia.
