Stantoll Properties CC (hereinafter referred to as Stantoll Properties or the Proponent) intends to continue with their sand/gravel mining activities from a sand/gravel bank in the Onanime Village, Okatana Constituency of the Oshana Region. It is therefore against this background that NamPower intends to apply for the operational Environmental Clearance Certificate in order to comply to the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.
The ECC is for the operation of 66kV Omburu - Uis transmission line. The 66kV Omburu - Uis line was constructed was constructed in 1974 prior to the commencement of the Environmental Management Act and its regulation, as a result there was no environmental impact assessment study conducted for the project prior to its development. It is therefore against this background that NamPower intends to apply for the operational Environmental Clearance Certificate in order to comply to the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.
The ECC is for the operation of the 66kV Gobabis - Omaere transmission line. The 66kV Gobabis-Omaere line was constructed from 1992 and was commissioned in 1995 prior to the commencement of the Environmental Management Act and its regulation, as a result there was no environmental impact assessment study conducted for the project prior to its development. It is therefore against this background that NamPower intends to apply for the operational Environmental Clearance Certificate in order to comply to the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.
