Right-Path Investments (Pty) Ltd intends on obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate for their existing car battery recycling facility measuring approximately 720 m2, constructed in 2019 within the industrial area of Okahandja. The factory aims to burn recycled car batteries using foundry coke as a fuel for burning, to produce Lead blocks which would be exported. There has not been any major activities in terms of operations apart from a 3 day equipment test run.

The existing Omaruru dumpsite does not meet the Solid Waste Management standards and MET landfill siting Guidelines, thus pose serious environmental risks. As such, the Municipality of Omaruru intends to decommission the existing dumpsite and commission a new landfill site. The decommissioning of the existing dumpsite and Commissioning of a new landfill site should be carried in terms of the Environmental Management Act (Act No.07 of 2007) and its Regulations of April 2012.

Kelp Blue Namibia (Pty) Ltd (Kelp Blue) intends to cultivate Giant Kelp at a commercial scale. Prior to them implementing the "commercial scale" cultivation project, Kelp Blue intends to first implement a Pilot Project to provide them with important information and proof of their proposed infrastructure design options and associated cultivation activities and how this will work in tandem with the biosystems. Mobile Telecommunications Ltd (MTC hereafter) under their 081everyone project aims to provide 100% network coverage across Namibia. GCS Water and Environmental Engineering (Pty) Ltd (GCS Namibia hereafter) was appointed in 2017 to undertake the Environmental Assessment process to obtain environmental clearance for the intended development. An application was submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) dated 25 August 2017 (Annexure A) requesting for exemption from certain sites which were deemed to be "not environmentally sensitive".
