KPM Environmental Consulting 2021. APP-002246: Renewal of Environmental Clearance Certificate for mining at Block 4 (Mining Licence No. 118 and 119) in Lüderitz Magisterial District in //Kharas Region.

The Environmental Clearance Certificate is required for the continuation of the mining activities at Block 4 (Mining Licence No. 118 and 119) by Fourth Mining Company. The company has been mining precious and semi-precious stones at the same Block since 2002 and wishes to continue mining until their 14th April 2022 as per their Mining Licence validity period and beyond. The Proponent requires authorisation from the Environmental Commissioner for a period of three (3) years.

GCS Water and Environmental Consultants 2021. APP-002233: Rezoning of Erf 688 from Public Open Space to Business in Extension 1 of Ndama in Rundu, Kavango West Region.

Erf 688 in Extension 1 of Ndama in Rundu has been proposed for rezoning from being a public open space to business for the purpose of developing a shopping centre. Planet Rose Properties proposes to subdivide the erf into two parts, where Portion A (±4 800 m²) will be developed as a business area. The remainder of the erf, approximately 900 m², in size will remain Public Open Space (see proposed site layout in the Background Information Document (BID)). During construction phase, certain areas of the project site will be levelled in order to setup the site infrastructure.

The Proponent intends to conduct offshore mineral exploration activity leading to the estimation and delineation of the target resource. As a request for approval for mineral exploration activity on EPL 6526, The Proponent is required to submit an Environmental Assessment Report (EAR) and draft Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) and MME. On approval, The Proponent would be issued with an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) from the MEFT.

NAMISUN Environmental Projects and Development 2021. APP-002006: Trigon Mining (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd's Proposed Exploration Activities on EPL 7525.

Trigon Mining (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd (Trigon) has successfully obtained EPL 7525, located ~ 5 km west of Kombat (i.e. from the EPL’s eastern boundary), in the Otjozondjupa Region. EPL 7525 is 1067 Hectares in size, encompassing 7 different farms. Trigon proposes to undertake exploration activities on EPL 7525 for base and rare metals, industrial minerals and precious metals. Trigon is planning exploration activities on the EPL.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002264: Operation and management for the existing Omuthiya solid waste disposal site.

The Omuthiya solid waste disposal site has been in existence for many years, however, there has not been any ECC in place. Instead, the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (ISWMP) has been an overarching guideline plan for the Town Council in terms of Solid waste management in the town. In compliance with Environmental Management Act 7 of 2007, the Omuthiya Town Council intends to apply for the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the existing solid waste disposal site (Dumping site). The initial Environmental Clearance Certificate for the above mentioned project has expired and the proponent currently intends to continue with the operations of the landfill site. The Proponent, PowerCom (Pty) Ltd proposes to erect and operate a 20 m tall, 3-legged free standing lattice telecommunication (network) tower in the area of Goreangab, Windhoek, Khomas Region and an area of 8m x 8m will be used for the tower and customer equipment. Under the Environmental Management Act (EMA) (No.7 of 2007) and its 2012 EIA Regulations, the proposed tower construction is a listed activity that require an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) from the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) of the Ministry of Environmental, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT).

NAMISUN Environmental Projects and Development 2021. APP-002259: Lodestone's Dordabis Iron Ore Mining Project and Associated Infrastructure: Power Supply to the mine through a new 132 kV and 11kV overhead powerline and associated infrastructure.

Lodestone is currently finalizing their Feasibility Study for the originally planned "Dordabis Iron Ore Mining Project and Associated Infrastructure" on ML 182. However, Lodestone now propose a number of changes to the previously assessed / approved (2013 EIA) project scope relating to the "original project". Lodestone is, amongst others, proposing the construction of a new overhead powerline from the Auas substation to the mine. A new 132 kV powerline is proposed for power supply from the Auas NamPower substation (near the C23/B6 roads intersection) to the mine.
