Excel Dynamic Solutions 2020. APP-001574: Environmental Assessment (EA) for Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) No. 7588 and 7653 near Khorixas Settlement in the Kunene Region, Namibia.

Golden Empire Mineral Mining CC (The Proponent) has been granted with an exclusive prospecting licenses (EPLs) No. 7588 and 7653 by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). The tenure of these licences is from 22 November 2019 and 3 November 2019 respectively. The covered area is prospective for five (5) groups of commodities, upon which detailed prospecting and exploration activities will be conducted. The Proponent plans to conduct prospecting and exploration activities leading to the estimation and delineation of the target resource.

The ECC is for the the operation and management of the 66kv Welwitschia - Kamanjab transmission line. The 66kV Welwitschia - Kamanjab line was constructed in 1996 prior to the commencement of the Environmental Management Act and its regulation, as a result there was no environmental impact assessment study conducted for the project prior to its development. It is therefore against this background that NamPower intends to apply for the operational Environmental Clearance Certificate in order to comply to the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.

Omavi Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Consultants 2020. APP-001762: Proposed Exploration Activities for dimension stone granite on EPL 5161, Erongo Region, Namibia.

To enable pre-feasibility as well as feasibility level exploration activities for granite for purposes of producing dimension stone. Exploration activities envisaged to include geological mapping, field evaluation, down the hole drilling, and test quarrying for the extraction of one or two blocks for further host rock quality evaluation.

Namibia’s economy is highly dependent on a healthy environment however and striking a balance in meeting demands for economic development (harvesting natural resources e,g sand mining) and maintaining biological diversity can be a challenge. Thus, it is imperative that developmental endeavours are conducted in the most sustainable manner.
