Intercontinental Mining (Pty) Ltd (The Proponent) applied for an Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) No.9680 from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) on 09 October 2023. The EPL cover a surface area of 5036.1717 hectares (ha) and is located near Witkop, //Karas Region (Figure 1), and cover (overlies) Farm Border No.155 (Figure 2). The commencement of exploration activities on the EPL requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). The target commodities for this project are Base & Rare Metals, Dimension Stone, Industrial Minerals and Precious Metals, Precious Stones, and Semi-Precious Stones.
