The ECC is for the operation of the 220 kV Van Eck - Auas transmission line 1, 2 and 3. The 220kV Van Eck – Auas transmission line 3 was constructed in 2000 - 2001, and line 1 and 2 were constructed in 1982. These lines are 33.7 km in lengths. They run close to one another from Van Eck substation to Auas substation. Line 1 and 2 are sitting on one structure.
The ECC is for the operation of the 66 kV Rehoboth - Klein Aub transmission line in Hardap Region. The 66kV Rehoboth – Klein Aub transmission line is 103km in length and was constructed in 1980. Renewal of the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the Environmental Management Plan for the Sossusvlei Desert Lodge, Farm Vreemdelingspoort No. 141, Maltahöhe District, Hardap Region, Namibia.
Renewal of the existing ECC is required for the continuation of the annual speed sailing event held at Lüderitz's Second Lagoon in October/November. This include preparation and maintenance work on the trench in the months prior to the event.
This BID serves as motivation for a consent application to subdivide a portion of Farm Volmoed, located 75km South-East of Windhoek. The farm falls under the Rehoboth Council area of jurisdiction. Approval is sought for the subdivision of 78.990Ha from 1263.424Ha into portion A and remainder. The purpose of the subdivision is to transfer the 78.990Ha to 31 beneficiaries, in the form of plot sizes varying between 1.3 and 5 hectares, who commit to undertaking agricultural operations.
