EPL 8532 is a mineral exploration licence provisionally awarded by the Ministry of Mines and Energy to Windust Investment (Pty) Ltd. This project seeks to undertake mineral exploration activities aimed at assessing the mineral resources potential within the EPL area. Projects of this nature as per the Government Gazette No 29 of 6 February 2012, requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). Therefore, in compliance with Environmental Management Act (EMA) of 2007 and its 2012 IEA gazetted regulations, Windust Investment (Pty) Ltd appointed Minera-Xplore Consultancy CC (N.
Farpoint Investments (Pty) Ltd (The proponent) has been allocated a 2 Ha / 20,000 m2 portion of farm 38 by the Walvis Bay Municipality on a 5 years lease agreement to establish a stock-holding site for dimension stone (marble and granite) and copper concentrate. The proposed site (lease 18) is located on a portion of Farm 38, registration Division F, south of the C14/ M36 Main Road. The site is found on the south-east of Walvis Bay town, wedged between Farms 19, 29,33 and 37, Farm 19 .

The assessment covers the Lithium open pit mine and supporting infrastructures for the following developmental stages: Construction, operation, ongoing monitoring and rehabilitation, decommissioning, closure and aftercare . In the proposed project, Lithium will be mined from pegmatites using conventional open pit mining technique.
