TotalEnergies EP Namibia B.V. ("TEEPNA") is applying to renew its ECC to continue with the previously assessed and approved activities, including appraisal well drilling in Block 2913B. TEEPNA and its partners hold an Exploration Right over Block 2913B.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) in Namibia only certifies Charcoal/ Briquette if the manufacturer can prove that it complies with the FSC requirements stipulated in the: FSC STD 40-004 Version 2 for trading and manufacturing organisations using 100% FSC material. The Standard aims at responsible management of Namibia’s forest resources whilst conserving and restoring the ecosystem and protecting workers rights. The scope includes natural forests including invasive species "thorn bushes" and non-timber forest products such as venison products and Marula fruit.
SCT currently abstracts water from the sea, which is treated through a water treatment facility, for cleaning purposes including surface floors, process machinery and leftover fish guts in the fish factory. They have a permit for the abstraction of 2.190.000 m3 per annum of seawater, which was issued by the Ministry of Agriculture Water and Land Reform’s (MAWL) - Department of Water Affairs (DWA). However, SCT only abstracts up to a maximum of ±1.576.800 m3 per annum as per the current operational demand, i.e.
The proposed amendments to the ECC (16 May 2018) and specifically to the Project Description in the EIA Report (SLR, 2017) covers the following items: Geographical Area; Number of Exploration Wells; Timing; and ECC Validity Period.
