Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-003227: Renewal of ECC for small-scale mining activities on ten mining claims (70469-70478) situated at Sinclair Mine, Maltahöhe District, Hardap Region.

Mr. Morne Du Plessis, hereinafter referred to as proponent, was granted an ECC for small-scale mining activities on ten mining claims (70469-70478), located in the Maltahohe district in Hardap region. The ECC was granted on the 08 of October 2018 and expired on the 08 of October 2021. Although exploration activities have taken place on the area in the past, there has not been any mining or exploration activities in the area since 2018 due to the economic meltdown. The proponent has now secured an investor and intends to commence with the mining activities.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-003247: Subdivisions and township establishments on the remainder of Portion B of Swakopmund Town and Townlands No. 41.

The Municipality of Swakopmund intends to apply for the subdivisions of the remainder of Portion B of Swakopmund town and townlands No. 41 into portions 182, 183, and 184 for township establishments of three new township extensions. The proposed developments will trigger certain activities listed under the Environmental Management Act, No. 07 of 2007, and its Regulations (No. 03 of February 2012) which requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) to be obtained.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002852: Gravel mining on the remainder of Portion B of the Swakopmund Town and Townlands No. 41 in the Nonidas area for Refuse Solution Group.

Refuse Solutions Group was granted an ECC for Gravel mining activities on the remainder of Portion B of Swakopmund Town and Townlands No. 41. The ECC, was issued on the 25th of April 2018 and expired on the 25th of April 2021. The proponent has been allocated about 12.3ha of land for gravel mining and so far about 4.3ha has been mined. The proponent wish to continue with the gravel mining activities, hence, the need to renew the ECC.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002853: Renewal of Strydo Construction's ECC for gravel mining on the remainder of Portion B of the Swakopmund Town and Townlands No. 41 in the Nonidas area dor Refuse Solution Group.

Strydo Construction cc was granted an ECC for Gravel mining activities on the remainder of Portion B of Swakopmund Town and Townlands No. 41. The ECC, was issued on the 25th of April 2018 and expired on the 25th of April 2021. The total area allocated to Strydo Construction cc for Gravel mining is 13.3 hectares of which about 6.65 hectares have been mined so far. The company wish to continue with the gravel mining activities, hence the application for the renewal of the ECC.

The ECC, was issued on the 19 June 2018 and had expired on the 19 June 2021. The proponent intends to continue with the mining activities, hence the application for renewal of the ECC.

Mr. Jasper Theron Uys was granted an ECC for small-scale mining activities on mining claims 69977, 69978 and 69979 at Otjokavare village, Kunene region. The ECC, was issued on the 19 June 2018 and expired on the 19 June 2021. There have not been any mining activities conducted on all the three Mining Claims since 2018 due to low economic situation over the recent years. However, the proponent intends to commence with the mining activities, hence the application for the renewal of the ECC.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002901: Renewal of ECC for solar salt operations within Mining Licence 147, Cape Cross, Dorob National Park in Erongo Region.

Salt of good quality has historically been mined at the Cape Cross salt pan since the early 1990s in the form of rock salt and re-crystallized salt. The Cape Cross salt pan is located along the coastal line, about 50km from Henties Bay within the Dorob National Park in Erongo Region. In 2009, Cape Cross Namib Investment (Pty) Ltd was granted a Mining Licence (ML147) for solar salt operations and subsequently obtained Environmental authorizations for these operations.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002845: Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the exploration of base and rare metals (copper ore) at EPL 7625 at Otjikondavirongo Village, Sesfontein Constituency, Kunene Region.

The proponent intends to explore for base and rare metal mineral resources & then mine for commercial purposes. The targeted mineral resource is mainly copper, other minerals that could be found in the area include Lead-Zinc, Cobalt-Nickel deposits.

The Okongo village Council has appointed Plantek Town and Regional Planner cc to subdivide Erf 103, Erf 345, and Erf 329, all located in Okongo proper. Peace Garden Investments (PTY) Ltd., intends to construct and operate a fuel retail station and truck port on Portion 35 of Eenhana Townlands No. 859. Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002799: Expansion, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of the aquaculture (fish farm) project at Okashaningwa village in the Omusati Region.

Cubia Green Fields cc (herein after referred to as "the proponent") has since 2016, been operating an aquaculture (freshwater fish) farm and vegetable garden at Okashaningwa village in the Ruacana constituency of Omusati Region. The farm currently has 1 pond measuring about 2800 m² on average and has a potential to stocked up-to 1000 Catfish or 15000 Tilapia. The plan is to have 8 ponds with measurement of 2800 m² on Average. Hence, seven (7) more additional ponds will be constructed.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002299: Construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of the proposed Outapi Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and associated infrastructures, Omusati Region.

The Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) Ltd. intends to expand the existing Outapi Water Treatment Plant (WTP) by upgrading capacities of certain components and constructing new additional infrastructures. The proposed expansion was necessitated by the fact that current and future water demand of the supply area has surpassed the capacity of the existing plant. Therefore, an additional water treatment capacity is required to respond to the current and future water demand to secure the supply of safe drinking water to the area.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002751: Permanent closure and rezoning of Erf 740 from public open space to institutional, Extension 2, Ondangwa.

The Coptic Orthodox Church in Namibia intends to construct an outbuilding on Erf 740, Extension 2, Ondangwa to accommodate at least two flats. Although Erf 740 belongs to the church, the Erf is currently zoned as Public Open Space. The Ondangwa Town Council has requested the church to apply for the permanent closure and rezoning of Erf 740 from POS to institutional in terms of Article 50 (1) (c) of the Local Authorities Act 23 of 1992 as amended and Section 105 (12) (a) of the Urban and Regional Planning Act 5 of 2018.

Dr. Erastus Shikongo Shapumba, hereinafter referred to as the proponent, intends to construct a shopping complex to be named "Las Vegas City Center" at Onashiku shaLaban village, Oshana region. The proposed business complex will consist of different facilities such as retail shops, accommodation, entertainment, hospitality, and recreational facilities as well as associated infrastructures. Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002369: Subdivision of Erf 5360 and creation of a public road (Street) in Extension 15, Swakopmund.

The Municipality of Swakopmund is in the process of redesigning the remainder of Erf 5360, Swakopmund Extension 15 by sub-dividing it into seven portions and remainder. As a result of this redesigning, a public road (street) will be created to provide access to the created erven. In terms of the Environmental Management Act (act No. 07 of 2007), "the creation a public road" cannot be done without an Environmental Clearance Certificate being obtained.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002348: Environmental Impact Assessment for Goboboseb small-scale mining hotspot, Erongo region.

The Goboboseb mining hotspots consists of mining claims which are owned and operated by different individuals and/or as groups. Mining activities mainly include artisanal and semi-mechanized methods which are used in extracting a wide range of gemstones. Although mining activities have been taking place for many years at this area, there has not been any Environmental Impact Assessment study done. Thus, ECCs for SSMs have in the past been issued upon completion of Environmental questionnaire and signing a pro-forma Environmental Contract.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002354: Creation of a public road (street) at Erf 542, Extension 1, Oshikuku in Omusati Region.

The property owner, Mr. Sevelinus Nakale has appointed TOYA Urban Planning Consultants cc to apply for the subdivision of Erf 542 located in Extension 1, Oshikuku., into seven portions and a remainder. As a result of this subdivision, a street network (crescent) with a width of approximately 10m, will be created to provide access to the newly created erven.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002323: Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) for the operation of the existing Ketu Bricks Project, Ogongo, Omusati Region.

Ketu Bricks project has been in existence for more than 20 years. The main principle of business is to manufacture block bricks from sand and cement mixture. Bricks are made by means of a semi-mechanize method which include mixing sand and cement with a concrete mixture and molding bricks by means of hand operated molders. Sand is sourced from local dealers with approved sand permits or occasionally obtained from the approved the nearest sand burrow pits belonging to the Uukwambi Traditional Authority.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002265: Operation and management of the Okankololose Gravel Burrow Pit, Omuthiya.

Omuthiya Town Council intends to apply for the ECC for the existing Gravel Burrow Pit at Okankololose. The Gravel Burrow pit is located within the Omuthiya townlands and is surrounded by traditional mahangu fields and homesteads of the Okankololose village. Although gravel mining activities have been taking place for many years, there has not been any Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or Environmental Management Plan (EMP) prepared for the site.

Green Gain Consultants 2021. APP-002264: Operation and management for the existing Omuthiya solid waste disposal site.

The Omuthiya solid waste disposal site has been in existence for many years, however, there has not been any ECC in place. Instead, the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (ISWMP) has been an overarching guideline plan for the Town Council in terms of Solid waste management in the town. In compliance with Environmental Management Act 7 of 2007, the Omuthiya Town Council intends to apply for the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the existing solid waste disposal site (Dumping site).
