This application for an ECC renewal relates to Omuthiya Shell Service Station's intended ongoing activities. Operating a petrol filling station without an ECC is prohibited by the Environmental Management Act 7 of 2007 (Government Notice No. 29). The application is being submitted in order to meet the requirements of the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007) and its 2012 regulations.

Title of Activity: Mining operation for base and rare metals on mining claims on 71081, 71082, 71083, 71436, 71437, 71438, and 71439 Nature of Activity: Mining and Quarrying Location of Activity: Farm Mesopotamia No. 54, Mesopotamia Village, Khorixas District, Kunene Region Scale and Scope of Activity: Area envisaged for the operations involves 1,155, 600 square meters of combined seven (7) mining claims.
I issue this clearance with the following conditions: (1) No discharge of effluent waste in water. (2) Kasika / Impalila conservancy should be involved in the disposal of effluent waste, and log sheet must be complete by both parties. (3) Key biodiversity habitats must be protected.
The ECC application is for the proposed exploration and prospecting activities on EPL 8829. The application is conducted in compliance with the Environmental Management Act No.7 of 2007, and it regulations of 2012.
