Exploration and small-scale mining/quarrying activities of base and rare metals by local communities in Kunene region plays a role in the regional economy. This application process for obtaining mining claims (MCs) for exploration and possibly small-scale mining/quarrying activities in the Kunene region involved several key steps and adherence to specific regulations. (i) Since MCs in Namibia are exclusively granted to Namibian natural persons (individuals) or companies that are majority-owned by Namibian citizens, Ayam Cenam Mining cc was first registered and is majority Namibian-owned.
The proposed wind-surfing and kite-surfing water sport activities will take place in the Lüderitz lagoon 2. The proponent intends to enhance water surfing activities as follows: (a) Using an alternative method of optimizing speed by installing temporary floating water-based wave breakers, (b) Adding kite-surfing and (c) Increase the number of water surfing events from one event per year to 2 events per year. The operator who is currently approved by MEFT only operates wind-surfing in the Lüderitz lagoon 2 by digging and excavating a channel for speed optimization.
The Proponent ascribes to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. The Proponent would like to meet demand for housing in Katima Mulilo Town but with minimal negative environmental and social impacts. The proponent understands Township Establishment of the proposed Katima Mulilo Extensions 55 and 56 on Erf 2818 Katima Mulilo Extension 10, creation of street and installation of services will have negative environmental and social impacts. For this reason, the Proponent commits to renew the current ECC before undertaking the proposed construction of houses.
The activities in which Coastal Precast and Paving CC engage in at the project site is mining and quarrying activities, all of which are registered under their Non-Exclusive Prospecting License No: 6352. Coastal Precast and Paving CC's mining and quarrying activities are being conducted under the following Mining Claims: Old Mining Claims: 68799, 68800, and 68801. All Coastal Precast and Paving CC's mining claims are situated in close proximity to one another and are situated within the Municipal Boundaries of the town of Walvis Bay, in the Erongo Region.

Walvis Diving and Salavage cc would like to undertake underwater hull cleaning. The existing ECC (No. 01884) is expiring on 17 January 2025, and the proponent would like to renew the ECC in order to be able to provide underwater hull cleaning services within the Walvis Bay port, Walvis Bay, Namibia.
The ECC (Environmental Clearance Certificate) issued on 12 April 2019 to the Proponent (Tsiseb Communal Conservancy) to undertake the proposed project expired on 12 April 2021. Due to various constraints and challenges including the COVID-19, the Proponent was unable to undertake the proposed activity within the permissible 3 years period. The income generated from the existing lodge (Brandberg White Lady Lodge) was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The proponent would like to construct and operate a 10 bed rooms lodge as well as other tourism facilities on the south side of the Ugab River (Erongo region). Furthermore, the proponent intends to construct on the north side of the Ugab River (Kunene region), staff accommodation facilities. This means the proposed site cuts across two regions, namely Kunene and Erongo regions. Furthermore, the proposed site falls within 2 Conservancies; namely, Sorris Sorris and Tsiseb. This is a listed activity and may not be undertake without an ECC; hence this application.

This is an application for the renewal of an existing Environmental Clearance Certificate held by Ongha Service Station CC, in respect of their filling station situated in Ongha Village of the Endola Constituency, situated in Ohangwena Region, Namibia. The Ongha Service Station operates both a filling station, as well as a 24-hour convenience shop, and is supplied with fuel by Total Energies.
The ECC for this project was approved in April 2017. However, the ECC has expired because the proponent was unable to operate due to several constrains including funding. The proponent has secured funding and is ready to develop. However, the proponent understands the need to first consider the environment before undertaking development. For this reason, the proponent would like to renew the ECC and start operation of the campsite.
