This document aims to provide you, as an Interested and/or Affected Party (I&AP), with background information regarding the application for Environmental Clearance Certificate for the proposed 100 MW solar power plant in //Karas Region. (Refer to Section 9: Locality Map), and Section 6 on the required environmental studies to be undertaken.
Title of Activity: Olulilwa Manganese Mining Nature of Activity: Mining (open cast) and mineral processing of Manganese Ore (Base and Rare Metals), transport to the port of Walvis Bay Location of Activity: The Mining Claim is located approximately 75km west of Opuwo Scale and Scope of Activity: Open cast mining of manganese.
Kunene Grapes and Citrus Et Al (Proprietary) Limited seeks to become active at planting and harvesting agricultural fruits such as grapes, citrus and avocado plantation in the northern western part of Namibia. Kunene Grapes and Citrus Et Al (Proprietary) Limited has applied for about 670 hectares of land in Otjomaungu village in the Epupa Constituency. The allocated land is granted for grape projects. Kunene Grapes and Citrus Et Al (Proprietary) Limited is a wholly owned Namibian company planting and harvesting grapes, citrus and avocados in the North Western part of Namibia.

Title of Activity: EPL6440 Exploration Project Nature of Activity: Exploration for Base and Rare Metals, Industrial Minerals, Precious Metals, Precious Stones, Semi-precious stones Location of Activity: Across the Erongo Mountains, 20km south of Omaruru, 30km north of Karibib (See attached maps – Annexures B to D) Scale and Scope of Activity: Geological mapping, rock grab and systematic trench sampling, road construction (blasting required in very rugged terrain), drilling (Reverse Circulation and diamond drilling techniques), bulk sampling including blasting.

Nature of Activity: The minerals exploration activities in general including, mapping, sampling, geophysical surveys, drilling, pitting and trenching and bulk sampling within EPL3400.
