The proponent is currently mining sand and aggregate for industrial and construction purposes on farm Excelsior no. 286 and intends to continue with the mining operations. Impala Consultancy 2024. 240513003599: Renewal of Environmental Clearance Certificate prospecting activities in respect to base and rare metals, industrial minerals, precious metals and precious stone on Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) 5855, south-west of Ruacana in the Kunene Region.

Shiloam Mining and Investments (Pty) Ltd (herein referred to as the proponent), is a fully Namibian registered entity that ventures in minerals exploration and mining. The proponent had initially obtained (on 15 April 2020) an Environmental Clearance Certificate that lapsed on 15 April 2023, and due to delay in respect to renewing the EPL at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, could not effect to process of renewing the ECC.

ACER (Africa) Environmental Consultants 2021.   APP-002171: EIA and EMP for Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) Equiano Submarine Fibre Optic Cable System to be landed at Swakopmund, Namibia.

ECC is for the installation of a new submarine fibre optic cable system that will be landed at Swakopmund. The Equiano Cable System, which will connect Africa with Europe. It will be located along the West Coast of Africa, between Portugal and South Africa. Branching units along the cable will in turn connect it to African countries, including Namibia, to increase and improve connectivity in Africa. There will be one Namibian landing at Swakopmund, where it will be operated by the Namibian landing partner Paratus Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd.
