The Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) is required to ensure the lawful continuation of sand mining operations at Erf 2383, located in the Katima District, Zambezi Region. The ECC serves as a mandatory compliance instrument under the Environmental Management Act, 2007 (Act No. 7 of 2007), confirming that the project adheres to national environmental regulations and enabling the proponent to carry out sand mining activities in accordance with approved environmental management measures.

This document aims to provide you, as an Interested and/or Affected Party (I&AP), with background information regarding the application for Environmental Clearance Certificate for the proposed 100 MW solar power plant in //Karas Region. (Refer to Section 9: Locality Map), and Section 6 on the required environmental studies to be undertaken.
Kunene Grapes and Citrus Et Al (Proprietary) Limited seeks to become active at planting and harvesting agricultural fruits such as grapes, citrus and avocado plantation in the northern western part of Namibia. Kunene Grapes and Citrus Et Al (Proprietary) Limited has applied for about 670 hectares of land in Otjomaungu village in the Epupa Constituency. The allocated land is granted for grape projects. Kunene Grapes and Citrus Et Al (Proprietary) Limited is a wholly owned Namibian company planting and harvesting grapes, citrus and avocados in the North Western part of Namibia.
The ECC is required in order to commence with the construction of the fuel retail facility.
The proponent has been granted provisional rights to the Exclusive Prospecting License no 8325 pending an ECC. The ECC is therefore required to commence with exploration studies on the EPL and solidify the proponent's rights to the EPL.

ECC is required for the commencement of the construction and operation of the proposed Bitumen processing plant. There ECC was issued on 01 April 2016, however, it expired before any activity could commence. The proponent, therefore, wants a renewal of the initial issued ECC in order to commence with the project.
