Over the past several decades, driven by the concerns about the impacts of global warming, many researchers and organisations, such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), have sought to understand man's influence on global sea levels. Part of this research has been focused on the current and future rate of sea level rise. This paper focuses on the tide gauges along the southern African coastline.
