Title:

The communal lands in eastern Namibia

Publication Year:
2002
Abstract:

Considerable attention has been given to Namibia's communal areas since independence in 1990. Much of that effort has been focused in boosting social and economic development, and on conserving environmental resources. To support and guide these developments, a good deal of work has also been done to assemble basic information on social and environmental conditions in the communal areas. This book aims to provide fundamental and descriptive information on communal lands previously known as Hereroland and Bushmanland, in the hope that it will be of benefit to managers, planners, politicians and other people who make decisions about the region.
