Title:

Phase II Invertebrate Study of Langer Heinrich Uranium Mining Licence Area (ML 140)

Publication Year:
2009
Abstract:

A large variety of invertebrates occur in Langer Heinrich's Mining Lease (ML 140). Many of them are endemic to Namibia, the Namib Desert, or even just parts of the Central Namib Desert. Ten habitats of importance to invertebrates were identified. They were analysed in terms of their invertebrate diversity, their potential for post-mining restoration, and their rarity as habitats on a regional scale. These three factors combined were used to derive an index of sensitivity for each habitat.
