Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) - Cuvelai-Etosha River Basin
There are no perennial rivers within the borders of Namibia and water resources are very unevenly distributed across the country. The water resources challenges in Namibia can only be addressed through efficient water resources management including development of an integrated framework and provision of infrastructure to ensure water security. In this regard, this booklet is compiled for the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry to introduce the concept of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and how it can be implemented with emphasis on stakeholder participation and decision making at the lowest appropriate level.
