The SADC Protocol on Fisheries and the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, of which all three BCLME member states are signatories establish obligations for the exchange of timely and appropriate information necessary for the effective management ofrntransboundary stocks. For many of the commercially important stocks there is already cooperation and exchange of information for research but as yet no joint management procedures and exchange of management related information.
