Joint sedimentological-botanical studies have been initiated in the perennial swamps of the Okavango Delta-fan, Botswana. It has been recognized that a knowledge of the interface of the active channel and the adjacent swamp vegetation is crucial in the understanding of the dynamics of the Delta.
