The application for amendment of the Title/ Subject of the ECC to include the Mining License (ML) No. 215 and for the new ECC to read as follows: "Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for Aukam Graphite Mining, Mining Licence (ML) No. 215, Aukam Farm No. 104, Bethanie District, //Karas Region" The current ECC was granted on the 6th October 2017 and the amended ECC will be for the proposed mining operations divided into two (2) phase and namely: Phase 1 which focuses on the remediation and processing of the historic waste dumps and Phase 2 targeting the in-situ ore to be recovered after the removal of the dumps and stabilising of the historical underground workings.
