Explorations in South Africa, with route from Walfisch Bay to Lake Ngami, and the ascent of the Tioge River
Account of the trip undertaken from 14 June 1853. Only passing reference to birds. Includes Ostrich in the comparative table of Otjiherero, Bayeye and Chylimanse words. Notes that Lake Ngami must have undergone considerable change, evidence of proof that the lake had not only been larger, but also smaller at some period. The very shallow western end of Lake Ngami was popular for wildfowl.
