Results from an aerial survey undertaken in July 1986 are briefly documented. Only two individuals were counted, giving an estimated density of one crane per 38.1 km and estimated total number of 11 individuals. The Linyanti Swamp complex was the only area where Wattled Cranes were observed. In the absence of nests or young, the author suggests most birds are non - breeding visitors from Botswana or Zambia.
