The deciduous geophyte Strumaria phonolithica Dinter is a late autumn-flowering species endemic to southwestern Namibia, with a beautiful outspread fan of leaves and scented white, funnel-shaped blooms. A description and details of its history, taxonomy, habitat and cultivation are given, accompanied by a watercolour painting.
