This report is as a result of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) seeking to explore new opportunities of adding value to Namibia's biodiversity in order to contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources, rural development and economic growth. The initiative is supported by the German Development Cooperation through the GTZ/MET project 'Sustainable Natural Resource Management', and by MET's 'Integrated Community-based Ecosystem Management (ICEMA)' project (FFEM-funded 'High Value Plant Species' subcomponent).
