The year 2012 was once again a successful one in terms of bird ringing in Namibia. A total of 15100 birds of 240 species were handled by 26 ringers; out of that total 10826 were newly ringed birds. Ursula Franke tops the list with almost 3500 birds, followed by Neil Thomson and Dirk Heinrich. Rian Jones is in fourth place with a huge number of controls of seabirds and this significant contribution certainly deserves recognition.
