This Environmental Impact Report (EIR) forms part of the process of planning and decision making for the proposed Kudu CCGT power plant at Uubvlei, near Oranjemund, Namibia. Its purpose is to present the findings of the EIA process for review by stakeholders and Authorities. In particular, it will: Identify any interactions between the proposed CCGT power plant and the environment; Consider which of these aspects, if any, are likely to have a significant impact on the environment; and recommend measures that will enhance any positive impact and avoid any adverse negative impact, and if the latter cannot be avoided, to reduce its impact and ensure adequate protection during construction and operation of the proposed CCGT power plant. The EIR is part of a series of reports and information documents issued during the environmental impact assessment process.
