Although a number of ungulates have the ability to rise up on their hind legs and feed in a bipedal stance, the ability to climb trees is exceptional. During regular censusses in the Kuiseb River Canyon, Namib-Naukluft Park, klipspringers Oreotragus oreotragus have been observed to browse at heights of up to 5,4 m in ana trees Acacia albida, their principal food resource.
