Livestock will always play an important role in the livelihoods of people living in Namibia. Many people who are currently nothing more than livestock owners will have to change their perceptions and practices to become livestock farmers that are able to make money out of their livestock in order to sustain their livelihoods. It is the purpose of this manual to make a small but hopefully important contribution towards putting farmers on the road to become more commercially oriented in their livestock practices. When land owners become farmers, incomes and therefore also their livelihood will be improved.
