Abstract:

The Programme for Communal Land Development aims to support the Aasvoelnes Community Development Trust by developing: 1. Community Garden of 1 Hectare 2. Livestock farming Project 3. Tourism and Craft Centre (Camping Site with a Craft Centre) The focal area extent measures at 19 624 ha, however the Livestock Farming Project and Community Garden will only cover 2500 ha and 1 ha respectively. The above activities are listed according to the Environmental Management Act No.7 of 2007: (6) Tourism Development Activities (8.7) Irrigation schemes for agricultural excluding domestic irrigation. It is against this background that the Programme for Communal Land Development seeks for an Environmental Clearance to commence with the developments.
