revision of the Palparini (Neuroptera: Myrmeleontidae) is commenced with an introduction to the tribe and descriptionption of Pamares gen. nov., with four new species, P. parvus, P. nephele, P. damarus and P. deru, from the Namib Desert of southwestern Africa.
