Copper Sunbird (Coppery Sunbird): Cinnyris cupreus (Nectarinia cuprea)
Across the Zimbabwean Mashonaland Highveld, westwards through the north-east of Namibia, including along the Okavango River, the Copper Sunbird has a virtually identical pattern of occurrence to the Purplebanded Sunbird Cinnyris bifasciatus (Nectarinia bifasciata). Its area of occupancy in Namibia is 2,700 km2, smaller than that of the Purple-banded Sunbird, of which 3% occurs within protected areas; reporting rate was 4%.
