Title:

Langer Heinrich Uranium Mine, Stage 3, Environmental Impact Assessment, Groundwater Specialist input

Publication Year:
2009
Abstract:

The analysis of environmental impacts on groundwater resources in the mining area involves several tasks: The development of a groundwater data base - incorporating the available groundwater level and monitoring data. The development of a groundwater flow model as part of the groundwater specialist input for the Stage 3 Extension EIA of the Langer Heinrich Uranium (LHU) mine. The groundwater model serves as an instrument for quantifying impacts on groundwater resources, for predicting travel times, flow directions and for making an end point analysis for flow paths. To provide a transport model describing the fate of substances in groundwater related to mining activities.
