A list of Zoological and Botanical types preserved in collections in southern and east Africa
At the Annual Conference of the South African Museums' Association, held in Livingstone in May, 1954, the value of types used in Botany and Zoology was discussed and the extreme importance of being able to re-examine types from time to time strongly emphasized. Furthermore, it was considered that the preservation of Types is a scientific obligation on the institutions and individuals who may have such in their possession.
