Title:

Climate Governance and Development Case Study

Abstract:

Climate change is increasingly recognized as a developmental challenge and an impediment to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Africa. Africa is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and is likely to suffer the most because of ist geographical location and weak institutional, human, economic and financial capacity to cope with the multiple impacts of climate change. Vulnerability to climate change on the continent is compounded by the dependence of economies on climate sensitive sectors, particularly agriculture.
