This paper reviews the distribution and migration of the European Swift Apus apus in the Ethiopian Region, essentially Africa south of the Sahara. The study is based on specimens examined in the various museums (which are listed),acceptable published specimen records, and a list of recoveries of ringed birds provided by R J Dowsett of the National Museum of Zambia (Extracted from author's introduction.
