Abstract:

Ogongo Campus is one of UNAM's campuses run by the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Campus is situated approximately 800 km from the City of Windhoek and mid-way between Oshikuku and Outapi Townships along the C46 highway and roughly 50 kilometers from Oshakati. The campus is located close to some prominent tourist attractions, such as Ruacana Falls and Etosha National Park. Training at Ogongo focuses on Agriculture, Management of Natural Resources and Environmental Science. The Campus is on a 4,350-ha farm of which 1000 ha serves as a game park. This offers a unique opportunity to conduct almost all student field practicals on campus and a further opportunity for research and community engagements in agriculture production and the management of natural resources. The institution purchases and stores diesel on site to fuel vehicles and for the generator. The diesel is sourced from Engen Namibia (Pty) Ltd. ENGEN Namibia (Pty) Ltd is a leading marketer of liquid fuels and lubricants in the country and aims to ensure that all their clients and facilities are compliant with the relevant environmental and industry legislation. It is against this background that Engen has appointed Environam Consultants Trading (ETC) to apply for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for this site on their behalf.
