Zhongan Investments (Pty) Ltd (the proponent) proposes to undertake exploration activities on Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) 8741 for Base & Rare metals, Dimension Stone, Industrial Minerals, Non-Nuclear Fuels, Nuclear fuels and Precious Metals. The proposed exploration activities include desktop studies, geophysical surveys, geochemical survey, geological mapping, trenching, drilling and geo-chemical sampling as well as laboratory analysis aimed discovering mineral resources of economic potential. The project area is in western central Namibia in Erongo Region, approximately 90 km by road south-southwest of the town of Karibib, in Erongo Region. The EPL covers farms, Vlakteplaas 110, Vlakteplaas 110 Portion No. 1 and Bloemhof 109. Projects of this nature as per the Government Gazette No 29 of 6 February 2012, requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). Therefore, in compliance with Environmental Management Act (EMA) of 2007 and its 2012 IEA gazetted regulations, Windust Investment (Pty) Ltd appointed Minera-Xplore Consultancy CC (N. Ndakunda) to carry out the required Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed project.
