The project involves the subdivision of Portion 35 (a Portion of Portion 6) of the Farm Klein Otavi No. 799, Otavi into 31 Portions and Remainder and the creation of street, Otavi, Otjozondjupa Region. The proponent applied for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the proposed development in 2019. The Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed development was conducted by Africa Planning Forum in 2019. In accordance with the Environmental Management Act, No 7 of 2007 and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations of 2012 the ECC is only valid for three years and as such the ECC has expired.
